Trey Songz shared his thoughts to Billboard on the scrutiny that Bieber’s been facing. “I really like the way he’s developing as an artist. With the latest thing that’s come out, with him saying the n-word years ago, I think for him to develop as an artist and do whatever it is that he wants to do, musically, and take all the scrutiny that he does, I think it’s hard to deal with,” he said. “Being a young man, having [the] world on your shoulders like he does and having the world watch you grow up and judge every step into manhood you take… I think he does a great job with it.”[1]
In June 2014, Trey Songz sat down with Larry King for his Ora TV talk show “Larry King Now.” Trey talked about abbout the use of the N-word by Justin Bieber: “I think we all make mistakes. Especially as young people. I think if I was found on tape saying some things at 15 I wouldn’t want people to see, you know? And I think the fact that he’s owned up to it and not ran away from it is something that we need to very much encourage, you know, because people do make mistakes and people do have blemishes. But to act like we don’t.””[2]
